Tonight, we went to Brookfield to check out their lights displays...and to take advantage of this uncharacteristically warm weather!
Not sure what they are looking at...
Meredith wanted a picture by herself. =)
It was amazingly "warm" out tonight, and it was so pleasant to walk around outside without freezing. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision to go, and I am so glad that we did! We love weekend outings, because that means that Daddy gets to go, too.
The "big cats" were really fun to watch. Typically when we go to the zoo, they are just laying around in the shade. Today they were active and much more entertaining.
As always, the kids loved to just play and explore.
Here, they are looking at a group of peacocks that were meandering by.
Once the sun went down, the lights looked really great - my pictures don't do them justice! There were lights everywhere....so festive.
As always, the kiddos love anything interactive...the more things to press, the better.
Daddy's favorite (the polar bear)...
Taking a "ride"...
We ended the night with a ride on the carousel. We had to wait in line for quite a while, but the kids were very patient. Caleb got to ride on a cheetah (currently his fave animal!) and Meredith picked a pink flamingo ("pink is my favorite! it matches me!") and Shane got a wolf (because that is what was close to the cheetah and flamingo, poor 3rd child).
