Field Museum

On a whim, I took the kids to Chicago's Field Museum yesterday (free day!).  Kris stayed behind, as he wasn't feeling well...so we braved the free-day crowds on our own again.  I remembered my camera, but not the memory disk...oops.  Thankfully we live in the age of cameras-on-our-phones.

Sparkies Book 1

Meredith was so proud and excited to have recently completed her 1st book for AWANA Sparks.  Last night she received the recognition & ribbon that go along with such an accomplishment and she has been absolutely giddy about the whole thing!  She worked incredibly hard to memorize her verses this year and we couldn't be prouder!

I got to sneak away from my little Puggles to see her get her award, and Daddy was already in there with his own group of Kinder Sparks.  It was so fun to see her up there!  After she got her ribbon, she started waving to everyone...not just Daddy and Mommy, but everybody.  My usually shy-ish girl held no excitement back and we just loved it.

Meredith's Class Party

Oops.  I forgot to include these pictures with the rest of our Valentines photos.

I helped with both the big kids' class parties on Friday, although I forgot to take any pictures during my time in Caleb's class.  Here are a few from Meredith's Valentine's Day school celebration...

Taekwondo

Throughout the month of February, the kids have the opportunity to take After School Enrichment classes.  They are low-cost and fun classes/activities at the school and they help make the winter pass a bit more reasonably!  So far, Meredith has taken a craft class, soccer, cookie-making and dance.  Caleb has a few lined up over the next two weeks, including basketball, which I am teaching (Meredith is taking this one also!).  This past week, Caleb took a 2-day taekwondo class and the instructors were kind enough to invite the kids to join them for a Saturday morning "ceremony" of sorts.  It was fun for us to watch, and Caleb did a great job.  He really enjoyed it!

Yelling "YES SIR!"

Ha!  Making his most intense "tiger" face!

What he was most looking forward to...breaking a board!

It broke into 3!  Nice work!
