Train Ride to 2Toots

Waiting at the Geneva station...

 So excited...

 Now approaching....Glen Ellyn!

Killing time before the train back to Geneva...

I wanted to get a cute picture of the girls.  They were arguing over whether or not they would put their arms around each other (Norah's choice) or hold hands (Meredith's choice).

 Stinkers.

Phone Photo Dump 28

Puzzle time.

Soccer rocker.

 "Have baby in belly!"

We went to the most fun party this weekend. Tons of friends and lots of things to do, including this amazing pond in which to swim & play.  Caleb loved navigating the kayak.

They also had a fun zipline...here are some quick clips of some of the many rides the kids took!

Mom & Shane...

Meredith & Dad...

Shane on his own...

 Making puppets.

 Super Norah!

 Snuggles.  Love these precious babes.

We got a foosball table!  Since the basement is still not done, it's parked (without legs) in the living room for now.  We are having lots of fun with it.

 Dinner on the deck.

Grandma got him a big boy Lego set!

One morning while the bigs were at VBS, Norah and I visited the park in our old 'hood.

We also visited the pet store.  I may or may not have almost come home with a baby bunny.

On the last VBS morning, Norah joined me for a pedicure.  She just sat on my lap and snuggled with me for the entire hour.

 Just being silly.

This girl's preferred sleepwear - Daddy's soccer jerseys.

Workerman Shane (and Grandpa!) on the job.

 Lunch at Auntie Heidi's!

 Practicing their VBS songs!

Chicago

We have been hearing great things about the new Maggie Daley Park downtown.  Today was the day we decided to check it out, despite the intense heat wave that also came to town.  It is pretty much amazing.  The kids loved it.  It was a little overwhelming for me, as it's quite spread out, split into several sections and it was super busy and hoooooot but we had a really great time.  Shane kept saying "this is AWESOME!" and there was no whining, despite some uncomfortable heat.

We just got there and we were already sweating and squinting!

Let's play!

Just a little bit sunny!

The little splash pads were a lifesaver!

Nest swings!

Break for lunch!

After lunch, instead of heading back to the park, we decided to check out Crown Fountains (the face fountains) and the "Bean".  The kids had an absolute BLAST getting soaked in the fountains and it was a perfect way to cool down on the hottest day of the summer (so far?!).  I had little butterflies in my stomach as I watched them having so much fun....such joy and excitement.

The Bean!

We finished up the day with some lemon ices and were very excited for the a/c in the car!  Our day was exhausting, but it was so much fun.  Can't wait for our next adventure!
