Shane's 1st Dentist Visit

Shane had his first dentist visit today!   The older two are pros at the dentist thing by this point, and they are both old enough to go back there without Mommy (sniff, sniff for me).  Kris was actually able to come with us, at the very last minute, which was very helpful.  By the time it was Shane's turn, all 4 of us were able to be in the room with Shane.  It was pretty much a party in there . Caleb, especially, was so encouraging to Shane.  It was really sweet to watch him cheer his little brother on. I sat next to Shane and rubbed his belly (which seemed to calm him down) and Kris was on camera duty.  Meredith played with puzzles. =)

Despite being a little afraid at first, he did a great job and didn't cry after the initial "mommy-is-putting-me-on-this-chair-and-now-the-chair-is-leaning-back" thing.

As soon as I set him on the chair, he started to cry.
Still a bit teary-eyed, but very cooperative.

He ended up being the perfect patient!
All of the kids got good reports!  No cavities, and Dr. Kyle commended them all on their good eating habits and brushing skills.  Meredith and Caleb were both excited that they have 20 teeth ("10 on top and 10 on the bottom, Mom!").  Shane has 16; his last set of molars are the only ones that haven't come through yet.

We love Dr. Kyle, and it's always such a fun and comfortable and safe experience for our kids.  If any of you is looking for a pediatric dentist, we highly recommend him! Go here to be directed to their website.

His office is in St. Charles, which is a bit of a hike, but totally worth it.  In fact, as we were driving there today, here's the conversation between Caleb & I:

Caleb:  The dentist is really far away!
Me:  Yes Caleb, Dr. Kyle is far away but we drive so far to see him because he is the best!
Caleb: He's not the best....he's the best, best, best, best, best!!!

Take it from Caleb, seriously.  Dr. Kyle is the best.
