Shane David
God is gracious; beloved
This morning, we dedicated Shane to the Lord at our church. This was our public way of expressing, in front of friends and family, that we are committed to raising Shane in a family that loves, follows, and trusts in God. While we have many hopes for our children, most of all we hope and pray that they will each, at some point, make the decision to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. While we are far from perfect, we strive to instill God's truth into their little hearts & minds, both by our example and our instruction.
We are blessed (beyond blessed, is more like it) to be surrounded by wonderful family and friends who care about us and our kids, and it was special to have many of them there today. Many of our friends were there, and some of our family. We are thankful to have had my parents there, although we miss Uncle Warren and the Phillips clan. Heidi came out from the city, Nana & Papa J. came all the way from Florida, and Uncle Kyle came from L.A.!
Shane's name means "God is Gracious".
The verse that we have chosen for Shane is 2 Chronicles 30:9b -
For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away His face from you, if you return to him.
Our little Shane sure is loved!
