We just returned from a super fun and way-too-short trip to visit my family in Arizona. Our trip was sadly cut a day shorter than planned, when we were all forced to de-plane just before take-off at O'Hare. There were some mechanical issues with the plane that weren't able to be fixed immediately, so the flight was cancelled. Unfortunately, the next flight available wasn't until the next morning. The airline paid for our hotel stay and food for the next 24 hours, so we called it an adventure. But two super early mornings definitely made for a tired start to the week!
Waiting for the plane (the first time).
Sad faces about not being able to get to Grandma and Grandpa until TOMORROW.
Nap in the hotel...
We finally made it! Headed to the pool! The kids loved being in the water again, and had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa.
We all loved exploring their yard...rocks, cactus, plants. So different from what we see at home.

No hugging the cactus!
Backside of my parents' home. I'm standing on the green of one of the holes of one of the golf courses in their community. We loved their house, and are so happy for them to have a wonderful place to call home!
Sun is setting!
Ending our first night with fire and wine and good conversation.
Grandpa and Daddy took the kids to see a train exhibit and then to the park. Meanwhile, Mom and I cruised around town in the convertible and got pedis.
Then...lunch, more outside time and then some rest/reading.
And then a party with more family. Loved being around so much family.
Cousin Jennine planned an egg hunt for the kids. They loved it. I didn't get any pics of the kids during the hunt for two reasons. 1) They were really fast and 2) I was afraid I'd fall into a cactus in my efforts to photograph their quickness.
Stay Tuned for Part 2!
