Grandma graciously treated us all (Kir and I with all the kids except Caleb, who was at school) to a fun day in the city today....with the main purpose of our day being a stop at the American Girl store to get these big girls each their own doll. They were pretty excited!
We rode the train downtown, which was extra fun for all the kids.
Ready to go in to the store!
The girls had fun picking out their dolls. Meredith picked out Marie-Grace and Evangeline picked out Cecile. Coincidentally, those two dolls/characters are friends. Their stories are both set in the late 1800s, in new Orleans. While we let them pick out their dolls completely on their own, I absolutely love that the ones they picked are friends. As we read the stories that go along with the dolls, it will be fun to remind Meredith that her doll's "friend" is the doll than Evie has.
After our visit to the store, we went to Uncle Warren's for lunch!
The kids loved playing pool, watching Jake & the Neverland Pirates, eating McDonald's, and listening to Uncle War play his guitar.
Wish this wasn't blurry. Sweet girlies with their dolls.
Marie-Grace, Meredith's new friend. =)
Thank you, Grandma, for a special day!
