Super 6!

Yesterday was Shane's 6th Birthday!  I am not going to lie....a birthday this close to Christmas is tough....mainly for me!  But Shane is such a chill kid, and his tastes are pretty simple.

Unfortunately, Kris had to be in the city early yesterday morning, so the traditional breakfast with Dad didn't happen.  He offered to take him to breakfast today instead, but Shane declined!

So after opening presents yesterday, I took the kiddos out for donuts (Shane picked Bosa) and then we went to Target to spend the gift card that Grandma gave him.  Shane then decided that he just wanted to go home to play with new toys.

Later in the afternoon, we picked up his buddy and I took the kids to Epic Air and then Kris joined us all at McD's for dinner.

We let him stay up late to work on new Legos sets, and he was as happy as could be.

It was a relatively simple day, but our newly-minted 6 year old seemed to feel special and celebrated!

Here are a few pictures....I didn't even get out the big camera, but managed to snap a few on my phone!

Abracadabra!

What a fun party!  While it was a bit crazy with 1 ten year old, 4 eight year olds (I'm putting C into this category even though he's not technically 8 yet!), 4 six year olds, 4 five year olds, 1 four year old, 1 two year old, and 1 one year old, it was a super fun celebration for our big kids' birthdays.  And, thankfully grandma was there to help!

Invitation (picture of the picture...sorry for blurriness!)...

Hallway sign...

 Party favors...

Sign that the kids helped me make & color!

Killing some time before friends arrive...

Shane had just scored a goal. ;)

We hired our friend Scott to do a magic show.  We highly recommended him, should you be looking for someone awesome and fun for an event!  He was super funny, entertaining, energetic, and great at magic.  And we aren't just saying that because he's our friend...he is really amazing!  (Here's his website.) The kids loved it.  It was so fun to see their smiles and laughs!

I took a ton of pictures of all the party guests, but I'm just including a handful of photos here...

After the show....lunch!  WE had pizza, chips (served in magic hats), fruit wands and pretzel wands.

In typical fashion, the girls ate and chatted so quietly...

And the boys?  Yeah, not so much...;)

CAKE!

 Pinata!

Sadly, the pinata broke after just two swings...Norah's and Shane's.  While Shane was very proud of how he "busted it", everyone else was a bit surprised and disappointed that they didn't get a turn.  But they quickly forgot such things in the mad dash for all the candy that poured out.

After everyone left, the opened presents with E&D....

I'm so thankful for these 2.  They sure do make my life magical. ;)
